Mr. Corey Jordan

Mr. Corey L. Jordan has served in public education for ten years. Nine of those years were dedicated to serving the Jackson Public School District. In 2014, he started his journey in education as a Freshman Seminar instructor at Forest Hill High school. After his first year, he was privileged to serve as Academy Coach for the “Academies of Jackson” at Forest Hill High School for two years. Mr. Jordan then relocated to Kirksey Middle School to serve as the 6-8th grade Physical Education Instructor. While at Kirksey Middle School, he served as the Electives Lead teacher, Head Track & Field coach, Head Football Coach, and Head Basketball Coach.  

In the summer of 2019, Mr. Jordan was graced with the opportunity to travel to Shanghai, China on a two-year contract to teach at SMIC Private International School. Due to a global pandemic, Mr. Jordan was only able to experience teaching abroad for only one year. Upon his return to Jackson Public Schools in the fall of 2020 he served as the Learning Strategies Instructor where he collaborated and supported the ELA teachers to provide effective instruction to move students successfully academically. In the fall of 2021, Mr. Jordan returned to Kirksey Middle School as the 8th grade Social Studies Instructor, teaching World Geography and Mississippi Studies.  

Mr. Jordan is excited to serve as the Dean of Students at Kirksey Middle School. His goal is to help provide a safe and conducive climate and culture for scholars by implementing necessary support and interventions for all students to succeed. Mr. Jordan is also excited to collaborate with parents and community members to make Kirksey the best we can be.  

Mr. Jordan is the proud graduate of Starkville High School located in Starkville, MS. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Alcorn State University in 2014 and a Master's Degree from Belhaven University in Educational Leadership and Administration in 2023. Mr. Jordan was issued his Administrative License by the State of Mississippi Board of Education in the summer of 2023.  

Mr. Jordan is the devoted husband to Shinita M. Jordan of nine years. They have one daughter, Natalie Grace Jordan, who is currently a »»ÆÞÉçÇø scholar. Mr. Jordan believes that success in education involves “taking on the difficult and striving for the impossible".
