Wolverine Scrabble Club
Who: All students at Northwest are welcome to try out to participate in the club. Membership is limited by the number of boards available.
What: The club is called the Northwest Jackson IB Middle School Scrabble Team. Our nickname is Wolverine Scrabble Club.
What is the purpose of the club? Learn spelling, vocabulary, computational skills, and strategic thinking/ problem-solving skills while playing an enjoyable game. Practice leadership skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship while working with a partner and interacting with other teams.
When will meetings be conducted? Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30 (Additional meetings may be held during tournament season)
Where: Meetings will be held in Mrs. Googe’s classroom, room 127 (7thgrade hall)
Why: This club was established to provide a creative outlet to allow students to practice verbal and math skills as well as group dynamics while having fun!!
How: Students will take a test to demonstrate the ability to manipulate letters to form words. They will also show that they can understand and apply game rules and demonstrate good sportsmanship. The membership fee is $20 and is due by September 5th. Each member will receive a club T-shirt after paying membership dues.
